The shield bears various charges including rampant lions, griffins, and other heraldic beasts representing the duke's numerous titles and dominions. The date 1633 appears prominently at the top of the coin between the legend segments, with the abbreviated titulature of Bogislaus XIV distributed around the periphery in Latin.
