背面描述 A highly detailed depiction of an imperial crown, rendered frontally with elaborate ornamentation including arches, pendilia, and gemstone settings across the band. Above the crown is a cross pattée. Below the crown, the initials I and D appear flanking the central design, with a small six-pointed ornamental cross motif at the base. A mintmaster's mark appears in the lower left field. The encircling legend CORONA AUREA CUSUS IN AUSTRIA frames the design, with the fineness notation 980 incorporated into the legend at the lower right.

附加信息

The "Aureus Magnus" ducats were a West German private minting phenomenon of the postwar decades, produced by firms catering to the bullion and medal market rather than any state monetary authority. This piece honors Maria Theresa, whose actual coinage legacy is dominated by the famous restrike taler — still being produced in Vienna to this day, frozen at the 1780 date by international bullion convention. A one-ducat gold piece in her name issued nearly two centuries after her death occupies an awkward category: neither a coin nor quite a medal, which is precisely why it landed in the X (unofficial issues) section of the catalog.
