| Beschrijving voorzijde | Draped bust of Empress Maria Theresa facing left, her elaborately coiffed hair adorned with a floral ornament, rendered in high relief in a neoclassical portrait style. The legend MARIA·THERESIA IMPERATRIX·GER· arcs around the periphery, with her birth and death dates 1717 and 1780 flanking the portrait in the field. The issue year 1957 appears in the lower exergue beneath the bust. |

| Beschrijving keerzijde | A bold six-pointed cross with trefoil lily terminals occupies the center of the field, with stylized foliate ornaments filling each of the six angles between the arms. At the center of the cross, within an oval cartouche, the denomination I DUCAT is inscribed. The fineness mark 980 appears at the base of the central cross. The upper legend PRO PROSPERITATE MUNDI and the lower legend AUREUS MAGNUS arc around the periphery, separated by small rosette stops. |
