Obverse description Central crowned eleven-fold quartered shield of arms displaying the dynastic bearings of Brunswick-Wolfenbüttel, surmounted by a ducal crown, all set within the field without inner circle. The encircling Latin legend names the ruler and bears the date, with separating rosette stops. The arms are rendered in fine relief, with the individual quarterings clearly delineated by a grid of lines.

Reverse description Full-length figure of the Wild Man (der Wilde Mann), the traditional heraldic supporter of Brunswick, standing facing, his body covered with foliage, a wreath of leaves upon his head, his left hand resting on his hip and his right hand grasping an uprooted fir tree. He stands upon a grassy ground strewn with small saplings. The motto legend PARTA TVERI arcs across the upper field, with the mintmaster's initials E.P.H. inscribed in the lower exergue.
