| Obverse description | A fully armored knight stands facing right in the field, the date divided to either side of his figure. In his raised right hand he holds an upright sword, while his left hand grasps a bundle of seven arrows symbolizing the seven united provinces. The design is rendered in the robust late-Renaissance style typical of Dutch Republic coinage. The encircling Latin legend reads CONCORDIA · RES PAR CRES : HOL · 1673, invoking the motto of unity and identifying the issuing province of Holland. |
