背面描述 Central device consists of a crowned lined orb bearing the Three Crowns of Sweden, encircled by the Chain of the Order of the Seraphim. The ornate pendant of the chain hangs below the orb, flanking the engraver's mintmaster mark. A Latin motto legend runs continuously around the rim, with the date and mintmaster initials interspersed; a small rosette terminates the legend immediately above the tip of the crown.

附加信息

Adolf Fredrik's ducats were struck under the constraints of Sweden's Age of Liberty, a parliamentary period that had so thoroughly neutered royal authority that the king himself reportedly said he was little more than a rubber stamp — signing legislation by threatening to abdicate rather than comply. These gold pieces were minted consistently across his reign yet never in large quantities, as Sweden's gold coinage served primarily diplomatic and gift-giving functions rather than everyday commerce.

Fr#69 is the standard Friedberg reference for this type, placing it firmly within the Hamburg-influenced ducat weight standard that Sweden had adopted from continental practice decades earlier.
