Adam Frederick of Seinsheim governed the Bishopric of Würzburg as Prince-Bishop from 1755 until his death in 1779, simultaneously holding the see of Bamberg from 1757 — a dual tenure that made him one of the more administratively powerful ecclesiastical princes in the late Holy Roman Empire. His court was a significant patron of late Baroque and early Rococo architecture, funding the completion of work at the Würzburg Residenz begun under his predecessors. The ducat coinage of his reign was struck across a span of nearly two decades, with output tied closely to the financial demands of maintaining that political and cultural apparatus.
