Reverse description The reverse presents a rectangular cartouche or tablet, ornately framed, bearing a five-line Latin inscription in bold Roman capitals: MON AVR LVBECENS AD LEGEM IMPERII, followed by the date 1791 and the mintmaster's initials H·D·F below. The tablet is surmounted by an elaborate wreath tied at the apex with a decorative rosette, and flanked on both sides by oak or laurel branches descending to a festoon at the base. The mintmaster initials H·D·F appear beneath the cartouche in the lower field. The overall composition is characteristic of Hanseatic city gold coinage of the Holy Roman Empire period, combining civic pride with Imperial monetary authority.
