Obverse description Central device depicts a crowned double-headed Imperial eagle displayed, with wings spread, each head facing outward to left and right respectively. The eagle bears on its breast a quartered shield with the Austrian arms, and at its base a circular orb or escutcheon bearing a crowned monogram. The surrounding Latin legend reads LEOPOLDVS II ROM IMP SEMP AVGVST, identifying the issuing authority as Emperor Leopold II, Holy Roman Emperor. The coin exhibits finely milled edge detail and a well-struck, high-relief design consistent with late 18th-century German gold coinage.
