| Obverse description | Crowned ornate oval shield bearing the arms of Nuremberg — a quartered coat featuring a diagonal bend and an eagle — set within elaborate baroque scrollwork cartouche. Mintmaster's initials S·H appear below the shield in the field. The date 1766 is incorporated into the circular legend, which reads NORIMB· (Norimbергae) around the periphery, with MONETA AVREA REIPVBL· completing the inscription across the upper and right fields. A mural crown surmounts the shield. |
