背面描述 Right-facing laureate and draped bust of Holy Roman Emperor Francis I (Franz I) occupying the central field, rendered in high relief with fine engraving detail on the hair, laurel wreath, and armored drapery. The emperor wears a classical laureate wreath and armor with ornate shoulder-piece visible at the truncation. A circular legend in Latin surrounds the bust, reading FRANC·D·G·R·I·S·A·GE·IER·R·LO·B·M·H·D·I·L·OE, representing his full imperial and dynastic titles. The initials I·G appear at the lower left of the truncation, likely the engraver's or mintmaster's mark. The legend and bust are enclosed within a beaded border.

附加信息

Nuremberg's ducats of this period were struck under the city's own mint authority — a privilege it had held since the medieval period and one it jealously guarded even as the Holy Roman Empire's political coherence frayed around it. By 1760, the city was deeply enmeshed in the financial pressures of the Seven Years' War, with Prussian and Austrian forces maneuvering through Franconia and municipal treasuries across the region strained by troop contributions and requisitions.

The Friedberg 1910 attribution covers a tightly defined type; the Erlanger collection reference anchors this to one of the more rigorously documented Nuremberg series.
