| Reverse description | A crowned double-headed imperial eagle displayed in the field, its wings spread symmetrically, with the crowned heads facing outward to dexter and sinister. Upon the eagle's breast is affixed an escutcheon bearing the arms of the city of Lübeck. The encircling Latin legend CIVITATIS IMPERIALIS. denotes the city's status as a Free Imperial City of the Holy Roman Empire. The milled edge is clearly visible around the coin's periphery, consistent with the high-quality production standards of Lübeck's gold coinage. |
