| Obverse description | Displayed double-headed imperial eagle with spread wings occupies the central field, surmounted by a single imperial crown bearing a cross finial. On the breast of the eagle appears a circular escutcheon depicting the Hamburg castle device. The talons clutch an orb and sceptre to left and a sword to right. The date appears in the lower field beneath the eagle. The circumferential legend in Latin reads LEOPOLDVS D G ROM IMP SEMPER AVG, separated by dot stops, running clockwise around the entire coin. |
