背面描述 Crowned double-headed imperial eagle displayed in the center of the field, bearing the Habsburg arms on a central escutcheon on its breast. The eagle's wings are spread and elaborately detailed with feathers, and the two crowned heads face outward to either side. The date, here appearing as 1638 on the coin illustrated, is inscribed in the upper field above the eagle. A mintmaster's mark appears at the base of the design. The surrounding circular Latin legend reads FERDINAND. III. D.G. ROM. IMP. S. AVG. P. F., identifying Holy Roman Emperor Ferdinand III.

附加信息

Augsburg's ducat output in the late 1630s falls squarely within the Thirty Years' War, during which the city changed hands — occupied by Imperial forces in 1635 after Swedish troops had held it since 1632. The Swedish occupation had devastated the city's finances and population through quartering costs and plague; the resumption of Imperial-aligned civic minting after 1635 was as much a political signal as an economic necessity.

Fr#63 places this among the standard Augsburg ducat sequence, struck to the long-established Rhine gold ducat weight that the city maintained with unusual consistency across the entire conflict period.
