| Obverse description | Central shield bearing the arms of Ulm — divided horizontally, with three flowers in the upper half and horizontal lines in the lower half — set within an elaborately engraved cartouche of foliate and scrollwork ornament. A winged cherub head surmounts the cartouche at the top, flanked by symmetrical acanthus-leaf sprays and fruit clusters extending to either side. Mint master's initials appear at the base of the design within the ornamental frame. The entire composition is enclosed by a fine beaded border running along the coin's rim. |

| Reverse description | Five-line Latin inscription occupying the central field, reading DVCATVS / NOVVS / REIPVBL / VLMEN / SIS, with the date below, all contained within an ornamental cartouche of bold foliate scrollwork that frames the legend on all sides. The lettering is rendered in large, well-spaced Roman capitals characteristic of early seventeenth-century German municipal coinage. A decorative crown-like ornament appears at the top of the cartouche, while curling acanthus tendrils fill the lower portion beneath the date. A beaded border encircles the design at the rim. |
