Obverse description Quartered shield displaying the four-fold arms of Hohenlohe and Waldenburg in the field, with the date divided on either side. A small imperial orb initiates the peripheral legend, which reads in abbreviated Latin and denotes the joint comital authority of the issuing houses. The heraldic composition is executed in the characteristic late Renaissance engraving style of German territorial coinage, with fine hatching conveying the tinctures of the quartered arms.
