Obverse description Central field displays the crowned arms of Saxony — the traditional barry-of-ten field with a diagonal crancelin — rendered in low relief characteristic of hammered Saxon minor coinage of the mid-sixteenth century. The shield is surmounted by an electoral bonnet or crown, flanked by partial peripheral legend. The mintmaster's initials HB appear within or adjacent to the design. The overall strike is irregular, consistent with hand-hammered production, with the devices showing moderate wear and partial flan weakness at the edges.
