| Obverse description | Central field dominated by a large Gothic letter 'E', the initial of Einbeck, surmounted by a municipal crown. Overlying the letter is a long cross with ornate terminals, forming the city's heraldic cross emblem. The design is rendered in low relief typical of hammered small coinage of the late sixteenth century, with a plain, unlegended field surrounding the central device. |
