| Beschrijving keerzijde | Central device consisting of a chaitya arch symbol above a horizontal bar, with a crescent and pellet motif, all typical of Western Satrap reverse iconography. A three-arched hill or chaitya symbol is prominent in the central field, flanked by a river or wavy line motif below. A circular Brahmi legend runs around the entire periphery of the reverse, naming the ruler and his lineage. The style and layout closely follow the standard Western Satrap drachm formula established from the first century CE onward. The die work is characteristic of the hammered coinage of the Ujjain region. |
