| Beschrijving keerzijde | Highly abstracted fire-altar or trident-like motif occupying the central field, depicted as a tall bifurcated or trifurcated form surmounted by pellets, derived ultimately from the Sasanian fire-altar reverse type of the original drachm prototype. Flanking elements consist of scattered pellets and curvilinear traces representing the degenerated remnants of attendant figures or secondary decorative devices. A horizontal bar or ribbon element crosses the lower portion of the central device, further emphasizing the schematic nature of the design. The flat, irregularly shaped flan bears characteristically uneven strike pressure, resulting in areas of weak relief at the margins. The overall composition reflects the advanced stylistic debasement typical of late Pratihara-period Sri Ha derivative coinage. |
