The deity is depicted rampant, facing left, with raised forearms, the body reduced to bold geometric forms. The surrounding field is decorated with a border of pellets or globules arranged along the periphery of the irregular flan. Subsidiary devices, possibly attendant figures or symbolic motifs, appear to the left and right of the central image, executed in the abbreviated artistic style typical of 9th–10th century north Indian silver coinage. |
