Jaitra Simha ruled Ranthambore during a period of sustained Chahamana resistance following the dynasty's displacement from Ajmer and Shakambhari after the defeat of Prithviraj III at Tarain in 1192. The Ranthambore branch maintained a degree of political autonomy for nearly a century under the fortress's natural defenses, and coinage from this phase reflects a regional power still projecting dynastic identity despite Sultanate pressure from Delhi.
The Mitchiner NI#696 attribution places this squarely within the debased bull-and-horseman tradition inherited from earlier Chahamana issues, though the silver content held better here than in many contemporary Rajput strikes.
