| Opis awersu | Sasanian-style royal bust facing right, wearing an elaborate Nezak-type crown surmounted by a crescent and globe finial; the effigy is rendered in low relief with broad shoulders and stylized drapery. Crescents appear in the outer margins of the field, framing the portrait in a manner characteristic of late Sasanian and post-Sasanian coinage of Tokharistan. The Tokhara Yabghus governed a successor territory carved from the eastern remnants of the Kushano-Sasanian sphere, nominally subordinate to the Western Türk Qaghanate but functionally autonomous across much of Bactria. These anonymous drachms — struck without a named ruler — reflect that ambiguity of authority: the issuing power was real enough to mint silver, but not stable or confident enough to put a name to it. The Göbl Hun series classifies them precisely because they defy cleaner dynastic categorization.
