The Kuninda were a tribal republic occupying the upper Beas and Yamuna watersheds, and their coinage — of which this drachm is a product — was almost certainly inspired by the punch-marked silver circulating through the Indo-Greek trade networks pressing in from the northwest. Amoghabhuti is the only Kuninda ruler attested by name on coins, and the precise boundaries of his authority remain disputed among South Asian numismatists.
The "Cf." qualifier in the ACR reference signals that this piece doesn't cleanly match the catalogued type — a common situation with Kuninda material, where die variation and regional sub-issues remain incompletely documented.
