| Obverse description | A deer stands to the right in the central field, with a symbol placed behind its horn and two cobras rearing upward above, forming a crown over the horn. The goddess Lakshmi stands to the left of the deer in frontal pose, a common auspicious motif in early Indian coinage. A Prakrit legend in Brahmi script runs around the design from left to right, identifying the issuing ruler. The style is characteristic of the punch-marked and cast coinage traditions of the northwestern Indian subcontinent. |
