| Obverse description | Draped and armored bust of Giovanni Galeazzo Maria Sforza facing right, with voluminous curly hair rendered in finely detailed relief, set within a beaded inner circle. The effigy presents the young Duke in a three-quarter armored pauldron with a decorated collar, executed in the high Renaissance portrait style characteristic of the Milan mint. The surrounding Latin legend reads IO GZ M SF VICECOMES DVX MLI SX, identifying him as Gian Galeazzo Maria Sforza, Viscount and Duke of Milan, distributed around the full circumference between the beaded borders. |
