Reverse description Quartered heraldic shield set within an ornate cartouche with elaborate scrollwork and foliate ornaments, surmounted by a royal crown. The four quarters display alternating charges including the Visconti biscione (a crowned serpent devouring a child) and an eagle, representing the arms of the Duchy of Milan and associated territories. A griffin or eagle supporter appears in the upper left field flanking the shield. The circumferential Latin legend MEDIOLANI DVX ETC encircles the design, proclaiming Philip's title as Duke of Milan.
