| Obverse description | Central field dominated by the elaborate papal coat of arms of Benedict XIII, displayed on a baroque cartouche flanked by two large palm fronds tied with cords. The shield is quartered, featuring a lion passant in the upper dexter quarter and a tower in the lower sinister quarter, surmounted by a six-pointed star above the escutcheon. The arms are crowned with the papal tiara and crossed keys above. The circular legend reading BENED٠XIII٠ P٠M٠AN٠II runs around the periphery, with a finely milled border encircling the entire design. |

Benedict XIII convened the 1725 Jubilee under considerable internal pressure — his pontificate was increasingly dominated by Cardinal Niccolò Coscia, whose corrupt administration of papal finances would later result in criminal prosecution after Benedict's death in 1730. The Jubilee year drew enormous pilgrimage traffic to Rome despite widespread suspicion of Coscia's handling of the associated revenues.
The Doppia denomination itself was reserved for prestige issues and presentation pieces rather than everyday commerce, which accounts for the survival rate in collector grades. Berman notes this type as a first-year Jubilee strike, distinct from the ordinary annual doppie of the reign.
