Obverse description The Madonna and Child enthroned upon clouds, surrounded by a ring of six-pointed stars within a beaded inner circle. The Virgin is depicted in a frontal, hieratic pose with the Christ Child seated before her, both rendered in high relief in the baroque style characteristic of Genoese coinage. The date and mint-master initials appear integrated within the circular legend along the upper and lower portions of the field. The peripheral legend reads ET REGE EOS, separated by pellets, with the date 1714 and mint-master initials FMS completing the inscription. The entire design is enclosed within a finely beaded outer border.
