| Reverse description | The reverse displays a large central circular cutout containing the Chinese character for 'dragon' (龍), formed in a distinctive twisted rope or cord relief style. Two sinuous Oriental dragons in high relief flank the lower portion of the coin's annular field, their scaled bodies curving along the bottom from left to right. The legend 'THE YEAR OF THE DRAGON' arcs across the upper portion of the field in stylized lettering. The outer rim is adorned with the same ornamental chain motif as the obverse, giving the coin a cohesive decorative appearance. |
