Obverse description The obverse is dominated by a central vignette of the national coat of arms, rendered in intaglio within an ornate guilloche medallion, flanked by a group of Scarlet Ibis (Eudocimus ruber) in various poses against a light background with floral underprint. The denomination numeral '1' appears in large intaglio figures at lower left and upper right corners, with a multicoloured rosette security element at the far right.
