| Obverse description | The Liberian coat of arms occupies the central field, depicting a shield bearing a sailing ship above the sea, flanked by two tall palm trees on either side, with a bald eagle displayed above the shield and a rising sun motif at the base. The legend TERRITORIES OF THE UNITED STATES arcs along the upper rim, while the inscriptions 5 TROY OUNCES and .999 FINE COPPER appear along the lower rim. The overall composition evokes both Liberian national symbolism and the American territorial theme of the series. The design is executed in high relief with a prooflike finish enhancing the fine detail throughout. |
