Opmerkingen

Casino scrip of this type occupied a legal grey area for decades — technically not currency, but functioning as a medium of exchange within the casino floor and, in practice, often accepted at nearby businesses in Las Vegas. The Ramada branding places this issue during the period after Ramada Inc. acquired the Tropicana in 1979, a partnership that ended acrimoniously in 1989 following a New Jersey gaming licence investigation that found hidden ownership ties to organized crime figures.

Scrip from the Ramada-era Tropicana is more historically loaded than most casino paper.
