| Obverse description | The national coat of arms of Barbados occupies the central field, featuring a quartered shield bearing a bearded fig tree and two pride-of-Barbados flowers, supported on the dexter by a dolphin and on the sinister by a pelican, both rendered in high relief. Above the shield, a closed helmet with mantling supports a clenched arm grasping two crossed pieces of sugarcane as the crest. A scroll beneath the supporters bears the national motto in the legend PRIDE AND INDUSTRY. The date 2020 is divided to either side of the arms, each numeral flanked by a small trident symbol. The country name BARBADOS appears as a bold legend along the lower rim, with a beaded border encircling the entire design. |
