| Obverse description | The obverse presents the rear view of a terracotta warrior figure in high relief, whose armoured back serves as the field for the Fijian coat of arms rendered in fine detail. The coat of arms is flanked by two shield-bearers and surmounted by the legend 'FIJI 2024' along the upper arc. The denomination '$1' appears below the shield, and the national motto 'Rerevaka na Kalou ka doka na Tui' is inscribed on a scroll at the base of the arms. The warrior's helmet, shoulder armour, and laminar back plates are rendered with exceptional sculptural precision in antique finish. |

The Terracotta Army was discovered in March 1974 by farmers digging a well near Xi'an, in Shaanxi province — one of the most significant archaeological finds of the twentieth century. Chinese authorities halted the well project and began excavations that eventually revealed thousands of life-sized figures buried with Qin Shi Huang, the first emperor of a unified China, since approximately 210 BCE. Fiji has become a prolific issuing authority for themed commemoratives of this kind, producing legal tender coinage under licensing arrangements that have no meaningful connection to the subject country.
