| Obverse description | The central field bears the coat of arms of the Republic of Palau, depicting a heraldic shield with a figure of Neptune holding a trident accompanied by a mermaid, set against stylized waves, with a treasure chest to the left and a sun and crescent above; the motto RAINBOW'S END appears in the base of the shield. A traditional Palauan sailing canoe is depicted above the arms. Eight five-pointed stars flank the shield on either side.
