| 表面の説明 | Olive-brown intaglio print on a fine guilloche underprint. At left-centre, an oval vignette contains a portrait of a bearded Chinese dignitary in traditional court dress with a mandarin cap; at right, a second oval vignette presents a landscape vignette of a hillside fortress or town gateway. The large Chinese character 壹圓 (One Dollar) is centred between the two vignettes, flanked by vertical Chinese inscriptions reading 壹圓 repeated at each margin. The upper border carries the bank title 大清銀行兌換券 in Chinese characters, with zeroed specimen serial numbers 00000 at upper left and right. A diagonal red SPECIMEN overprint crosses the centre of the note, and two cancellation punch-holes appear at lower centre. |

The arched legend THE TA-CHING GOVERNMENT BANK curves along the top border, with the promise text PROMISES TO PAY THE BEARER ON DEMAND AT ITS OFFICE HERE ONE DOLLAR LOCAL CURRENCY across the upper portion of the central frame. The denomination ONE DOLLAR is set in bold letters along the lower frame, with numeral 1 repeated at left and right in decorative cartouches. The date 1ST OCTOBER 1909 appears at lower centre flanked by ACCT and MANAGER signature lines, both bearing SPECIMEN overprints. Zeroed serial numbers 00000 appear at upper left and right, and cancellation punch-holes are present at lower centre. The printer's imprint American Bank Note Co.
