The arched legend THE TA-CHING GOVERNMENT BANK curves along the top border, with the promise text PROMISES TO PAY THE BEARER ON DEMAND AT ITS OFFICE HERE ONE DOLLAR LOCAL CURRENCY across the upper portion of the central frame. The denomination ONE DOLLAR is set in bold letters along the lower frame, with numeral 1 repeated at left and right in decorative cartouches. The date 1ST OCTOBER 1909 appears at lower centre flanked by ACCT and MANAGER signature lines, both bearing SPECIMEN overprints.
