| Obverse description | The central field features the coat of arms of the Republic of Palau, depicting a male figure holding a trident and a female figure seated amid ocean waves, with a crescent moon and star above, all within an ornate shield surmounted by a traditional outrigger canoe. The motto RAINBOWS END appears in the exergue of the shield. Eight five-pointed stars are arranged in two arcs flanking the shield in the field.
