Reverse description The reverse is printed entirely in green and is dominated by a centrally placed intaglio-engraved American shield bearing vertical stripes in the lower half and a row of stars across the upper field, flanked by olive and wheat branches. To each side, a large ornate lathe-work guilloche medallion carries the denomination ONE in multiple orientations within concentric engine-turned borders, with the bank name repeated in the surrounding lettering band. A faint green underprint of the bank title extends across the full width of the note behind the central devices.
