| Reverse description | A full-color photographic portrait of Severus Snape, the fictional character from the Harry Potter franchise as portrayed by actor Alan Rickman, dominates the right portion of the field, depicted in his characteristic dark robes and pointing a wand directly toward the viewer. A greyscale rendering of Hogwarts Castle appears in the background to the lower left, lending depth to the composition. The stylized 'Harry Potter' franchise logotype is inscribed in the left field in the recognizable lightning-bolt typeface. The character name 'SEVERUS SNAPE™' appears as a legend along the lower rim. The copyright notice 'TM & © WBEI. (s19)' is inscribed vertically along the left edge of the field. |

Fiji has served as a convenient issuing authority for numerous collector-market novelty coins since the early 2000s, providing legal tender status to pieces with no meaningful circulation intent. This Severus Snape dollar is one of dozens of licensed Warner Bros. issues struck under that arrangement, produced almost certainly by the New Zealand Mint or a comparable private facility operating on Fiji's behalf.
The Harry Potter licensing program generated a substantial run of these one-ounce silver issues across multiple fictional characters beginning around 2020.
