Palau's marine-themed silver program, running since the late 1990s, was among the first Pacific island series to successfully market collectible coinage to European buyers through licensed distributors — particularly in Germany and Austria. The Republic has no meaningful domestic numismatic market; these pieces were conceived entirely for export.
