| Reverse description | The frosted reverse depicts a detailed frontal representation of Tutankhamun's anthropoid sarcophagus, shown in high relief at the centre of the field, with the pharaoh's mummiform effigy wearing the nemes headdress and holding the crook and flail crossed over the chest. Flanking the sarcophagus are two Egyptian cartouches rendered in relief: that to the left contains hieroglyphic signs identifying the pharaoh, while that to the right features a scarab beetle surmounted by a solar disc. The legend TUTANKHAMUN arcs along the upper left periphery in incuse lettering against a darkened background, with the denomination $1 to the upper right of the central device. The Pobjoy Mint mark P appears in the lower central field, and the fineness and weight inscription Ag.999. 1oz is positioned in the lower right field. |
