Aanvullende informatie

Palau has issued a substantial number of small-format gold pieces aimed squarely at the collector market rather than circulation, and this entry is no exception. The KM#244 is one of dozens of similar issues from the same period, produced under Palau's authority but almost certainly struck by a European contract mint.

Romulus and Remus appear frequently on modern commemorative issues, but their mythological association with Rome's founding — the she-wolf, the fratricide, the seven hills — carries no particular connection to Palau itself.
