Beschrijving voorzijde Central field features the coat of arms of the Republic of Palau, depicting a traditional Palauan figure seated within a shield-shaped escutcheon, with a traditional canoe above. The arms are rendered in blue tones against a light field. The circular legend 'REPUBLIC OF PALAU' arcs along the upper periphery, flanked by small star devices, while the inscription 'RAINBOW'S END' appears in the lower portion of the shield. The denomination '1 $' is inscribed at the base of the inner disc. The entire design is set within a yellow and white clay composite chip-style border with notched edges.

Aanvullende informatie

Palau's legal tender novelty issues have occupied a peculiar corner of the numismatic market since the 1990s, when the republic began licensing its coinage authority to European distributors — primarily Austrian and German firms — producing collectibles with no meaningful circulation history. This piece belongs squarely in that category. Whether it qualifies as a coin in any functional sense is a question serious collectors have debated for years.
