Mô tả mặt sau The central field features a vivid full-color applied scene depicting a panoramic ocean environment divided at the waterline: above, a tropical island coastline is rendered beneath a dramatic sunset sky with celestial bodies; below the waterline, a richly detailed underwater tableau shows a sea turtle, sharks, tropical fish, and diverse coral reef flora in deep blue and warm tones. The legend 'MARINE-LIFE PROTECTION' arcs along the upper periphery within a beaded border, and the engraver's signature 'R.L. NELSON' appears in a cartouche at the base of the central scene.

Thông tin bổ sung

Palau gained independence from U.S. administration in 1994, making this 1993 issue one of the first coins struck in anticipation of full sovereignty — produced before the Compact of Free Association had formally taken effect. The series was minted primarily for the collector market, as U.S. currency remained the practical medium of exchange on the islands and these pieces saw negligible circulation.
