Additional information

Palau's micro-gold program, launched in the late 2000s, exploited the country's sovereign minting rights to produce fractional bullion pieces aimed squarely at the novelty collector market. At 0.5 grams, these were among the smallest legal-tender gold coins produced by any Pacific nation, issued under a licensing arrangement with foreign minting houses rather than any domestic facility — Palau has no mint of its own.

Nero's inclusion in this series reflects no particular historical connection to the Pacific; the Roman emperors subset was simply a commercial theme. KM#309 is one of several dozen catalogue numbers assigned to Palau's dollar gold miniatures from this period.
