Reverse description The reverse, designed by Thomas D. Rogers and Renata Gordon, depicts two military steel helmets of different World War-era patterns positioned side by side in the center of the field, each surmounted by a single Native American eagle feather, symbolizing the spiritual and cultural heritage of the Code Talkers. Two ceremonial staffs cross diagonally beneath the helmets, referencing traditional Native American symbols. The inscriptions WWI and WWII flank the helmets at lower left and lower right respectively, with CODE TALKERS arcing along the lower rim. The legend UNITED STATES OF AMERICA and the denomination $1 appear in the upper field, and the engravers' initials TDR and RG are incused at the lower center.
