Reverse description The central field features a finely detailed nativity scene rendered in high relief, depicting the Virgin Mary cradling the infant Jesus in swaddling clothes within a manger, with Joseph leaning attentively at her side. To the upper right, the head of an ox is visible above the manger stall, evoking the traditional stable setting. The legend CHRISTMAS ISLAND curves along the upper periphery, while the denomination $1 appears in the lower central field, and the inscription KIRITIMATI - KIRIBATI is engraved along the lower border. The composition is framed by a fine inner denticled border.
