| Obverse description | The obverse displays the national coat of arms of the Republic of Liberia at center, depicting a three-masted sailing ship on open seas with a palm tree and a rising sun on the shore, flanked by a plow and a spade below, all within a heraldic shield surmounted by a dove in flight. The shield is encircled by a wreath of leaves, with a scroll at the base bearing the legend REPUBLIC OF LIBERIA. The motto THE LOVE OF LIBERTY BROUGHT US HERE arcs across a ribbon within the upper portion of the arms.
